Penticton’s Best Kept Secret

For almost 60 years the volunteers who make up the Penticton Community Concert Society have been bringing first class live entertainment to the Penticton Area. Over the years we have presented nearly 300 concerts and have filled over 200,000 seats.

In Canada, Community Concerts started in the early ’50 s as an affiliate of Columbia Artists Management. The concept was to present good live entertainment to communities regardless of size and which ordinarily could not afford many of the artists.

The selection committees have brought artists from the U.S. and Europe. In recent years the first class talent pool in Canada has grown and we are happy to feature many Canadian artists. We usually have 5 concerts a year, one of which features a local artist. A few of the special performances seen in Penticton over the years are: Canadian Brass, The Kim Duo, James Parker, La Pieta, Jeff Hyslop, San Francisco State Opera School singers, .and Natalie Choquette

The society also provides a $1000.00 performing arts scholarship to a local area student graduating from high school and going on to education in the arts.

The Memorial fund assists music students, who may not be able to afford it, attend the concerts.

As times change we will build on our experience and rich heritage to continue to bring fine music to our members.
